Project MUSKAN, expanded in its second year.
GoodWeave now supports 8 NFE Centre in Bhadohi as part of their project MUSKAN. The project started in 2010 with 3 NFE Centre aiming to provide non-formal education to underprivileged kids from Carpet weaving communities. seeing the overwhelming response from weaving community, GoodWeave decided to expand the program & added 5 new NFE Centre in the carpet district.
 
GoodWeave's Project 'Building Healthy Communities' initiated in Panipat.
Health Camps & Awareness workshops are being organized in GoodWeave Licensee factories in Panipat from December 2010 onwards. The project will benefit families of over 2000 workers working in GoodWeave licensee supply chain.

Our Mission

GoodWeave works to end child labour in the Carpet Industry and to offer educational opportunities to children in South Asia.

The Program:

The GoodWeave certification program is dedicated to ending illegal child labor in the handmade carpet industry and offering educational opportunities to children in India, Nepal and other carpet exporting countries. As a part of this effort, GoodWeave funds partners to implement programs that address the root causes of child labor in carpet weaving communities, as well as those providing direct services to rescued and at-risk children. 

The Label                                            
 
The GoodWeave label on a rug signifies:
  • No child labour was employed in the rug production process
  • The workshop or factory, where the rug was made, is inspected by approved inspectors, with no prior notice
  • The rehabilitation and education of rescued child workers in the rug industry
  • Practical and financial support to the communities of those children
AND increasingly the GoodWeave label will also come to stand for:
Enhanced environmental and social responsibility standards in the rug industry of Nepal and India.
